Aircraft

Goldak's fleet consists of three Piper PA-31 Navajo aircraft and one Cessna 208 Caravan. As well as being ideal aircraft for operating in the challenging airborne survey environment each of our aircraft have been modified to reduce aircraft induced magnetic noise.

  • all ferrous steel fasteners in the vicinity of the magnetic sensors have been replaced with those made of non-magnetic 300 series stainless steel alloy
  • the aircraft's charging systems have been isolated to minimize random electrical currents in the airframe
  • aircraft skins and control surfaces have been electrically bonded to minimize random behaviour in electrical eddy currents
  • each aircraft has been fitted with additional static wicks to minimize the effects of precipitation static
